Ms. Sarah

I am originally from the White Mountains of New Hampshire. I moved to CA when I was in elementary school. I have lived in the Five Cities most of my life. I currently live in Arroyo Grande with my husband Jeff and two daughters, Jade (15) and Brooklyn (10). I spend most of my spare time with my family. We enjoy eating out, traveling and neighborhood walks.

I started my career with children when I was 19 years old. I was a special education assistant. After doing that for two years, I decided to pursue a career with children. I have an associates degree in General Childhood Development and another specializing in Directing an Infant/Toddler Program. I worked as a PreK teacher at Little Oaks Preschool for 12 years, until I moved here to Trust Children’s Center. I enjoy the staff and children I work with and look forward to what the future holds for TCC!

I was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. My family moved to Santa Barbara, California when I was six years old. I grew up and went to school in Santa Barbara until eventually moving to Santa Maria, where I currently reside with my husband Karl. We have been blessed with two wonderful boys, Jeff is 28 and Joe is 25. I also have a feisty little Yorkie named Abby.

I have been working with children from infant to 12 years old for over 30 years as an aide, teacher or preschool director. I especially appreciate working with infants and toddlers and watching how they all seem to learn and develop in different ways. When possible I take new classes, workshops and conferences to keep up with how best to nurture and provide a learning environment for your precious little ones.

Ms. Kylie

I am a SLO county native and graduated from Cal Poly in 2016. Even though I wasn't always sure where a bachelor's degree in Child Development and Psychology might take me, I was excited to learn all I could about children and the unique ways in which they grow and learn.

I feel very fortunate to have had a number of different experiences working with children and I have been working at Trust for over two years. I live in Arroyo Grande with my boyfriend and our five-year-old son, Eli, and enjoy being so close to extended family. I also have a passion for wearing cozy socks, reading books, going outside, and riding horses.

I live in Atascadero with my husband Brendan, our two sons Liam and Calum, and our husky Icarus. We love the Central Coast and all it has to offer. We enjoy the outdoors, camping, going to the beach, and just hanging out at home in our backyard.

When I was about 12 years old I started teaching toddler classes at church. Over the years I found that I loved working with children, so I pursued my AA degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been working as a preschool teacher for over 8 years now and it brings me so much joy.

Ms. Sarah S.

I grew up in Cambria CA and am now living in Grover Beach with some of my favorite people. I graduated from Cuesta College with my AA in Early Childhood Education.

My love for working with children began early on as I worked as a babysitter in my teens and then as nursery care at a local church and then finally found my master passion at Cuesta in their Children’s Center. I’ve been teaching preschool for 3 years and I can’t imagine myself doing anything else. In my free time I enjoy acting and performing in community theatre, and I’ve been doing that for the past 13 years. I also enjoy reading and being anywhere near the ocean.

I’m so excited to be part of the Trust family!

Ms. Carissa

I was born and raised in the 5 Cities area. I have been working with children since I was 13 years old, when I began babysitting, and I knew then that was the path I was meant to pursue in life. I went to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and received my Bachelor’s in Child Development and minor in Psychology in 2014. I’ve worked in other preschools, as well as was a nanny for a local family for three years. I love working with children because I not only learn more about them but I learn more about myself and life every day I am with them.

I currently live in Grover Beach with my husband, Jeremy, and my nephew, Braxton. I am so excited to be a part of the TCC team and I look forward to meeting all the families and children!

I'm from Japan and moved to the U.S. in November 2016. My husband got a job in San Luis Obispo, so we moved here from L.A. about half a year ago. In Japan I worked as a gymnastics teacher for students aged 2-12 for two years. I have also worked as a kids club attendant at a local 24 Hour Fitness for six months. I am excited to start my journey at Trust and as you can probably tell I also enjoy playing and watching sports. I'm super excited about the Tokyo Olympics!

Ms. Barrow

Hi! My name is Sarah Barrow. As there are now so many Sarah's, we have decided it is less confusing if everyone calls me Miss Barrow. I grew up in Weaverville, a very small mountain town in Northern California, but currently live in Los Osos. I love spending time outside, hiking, and exploring with my dog.

Professionally, I have about 3 years experience working with kids, including instructing swim lessons, teaching at a Montessori school, conducting behavioral therapy for children with autism, and I’m currently a nanny to a 5 month old. I enjoy being around kids, regardless of the situation. Being outdoors and seeing nature through the eyes of a child brings me so much joy, which is why I am thrilled to have found a program like Trust Children’s Center. I look forward to seeing these children grow with the freedom to explore with enthusiasm.

Ms. Anne

Preschool Substitute
